Firm History

The firm has operated a successful practice since it was founded by Mr. Ronald Munroe in 1971.  The name was changed to Munroe and Orsa in 1980 when Gary Orsa became a partner.  When the firm incorporated in 1986, the name was changed to Munroe and Orsa Architects Inc.  January of 2001 brought on the retirement of Ronald L. Munroe and Gary M. Orsa became president and sole principal of the firm.  In May 2009, the name was changed to ORSA GROUP ARCHITECTS, to better reflect the current status of the firm.

The firm has provided architectural services on a continuing basis for many public agencies and private corporations.  We believe our continued association with these clients reflects their satisfaction with the services rendered.  Several of these associations span 30 -35 years.

GARY M. ORSA joined the firm in 1973, and has been a principal since 1980.  He has performed as Principal-in-Charge for numerous projects including facilities for the U. S. Postal Service, Solar Turbines, Inc., SDG&E, General Atomics and GA Aeronautical as well as several  public and private clients.

Mr. Orsa's wide experience in concrete, steel, masonry, and light wood/metal frame construction provides a thorough insight into construction details of these materials.  Mr. Orsa places special emphasis on design, construction detailing and coordination among the various disciplines, reviewing project drawings and specifications for accuracy and consistency.

As manager of the Computer Aided Design (CAD) production within the office, Gary Orsa supervised document production. He maintains active participation in CAD projects and establishes office standards for electronically generated drawings.

Chuck Bush is an associate architect with ORSA GROUP ARCHITECTS.  His outstanding academic credentials, combined with his technical experience in a variety of architectural project types is a tremendous asset to the design team.

Chuck is well versed in construction methods and contract documents. His experience in all building types cupled with his knowledge of codes and regulations makes him well suited for construction administation and production management.
